The tour of the Galamus Caves takes place in Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, on the border between the Pyrénées-Orientales and the Aude departments.
The Corbières-Fenouillèdes limestone massif is home to numerous natural caves carved out by water, offering an ideal setting for recreational caving.

What happens during a caving session?
Reception and Facilities
Upon arrival, the instructor will greet you, explain the activity, and provide each participant with caving equipment: a helmet with a headlamp, a harness, and rope-climbing gear.
Briefing and Safety
Before entering the cave, a briefing covers vertical climbing techniques, safety guidelines, and how to use the equipment.
Progress along the course
You’ll then set off on a true underground exploration, alternating between rappelling, underground passages, and navigating through tunnels before emerging on the other side of the mountain.

The Galamus caving tour is a challenging excursion suitable for participants aged 12 and older who are in good physical condition. Participants weighing over 90 kg should contact us in advance. Some prior caving experience is helpful, but no specific technical skills are required.
