Haute-Vallée de l’Aude is the ideal place for lovers of white water sports, particularly rafting.
This 8 km route, between Axat and Belvianes-et-Cavirac, will allow you to discover the superb Pierre-Lys gorges.
The descent begins with a 4 km initiation where you familiarize yourself with the boat and the crew while discovering the environment of the river.
After a brief stop at the village of Saint-Martin-Lys, you will continue your descent to the Pierre-Lys gorges which have the most beautiful rapids in store for you for an unforgettable experience.
However, given that these gorges are very rough, access is not recommended for children under 12 years old and people who do not feel comfortable in white water. We therefore set up a 15-minute shuttle over a distance of 3 km to allow these people to observe the crew crossing the rapids and enjoy the beauty of the gorges.
At the end of the gorge, the whole group meets up to finish the last peaceful kilometers together to the base.
During this rafting session on the Aude River, you will be met at our base for equipment and preparations, which takes approximately half an hour.
Then, a 10-minute shuttle will take you to the starting point. You will then have a quarter of an hour of explanations on the safety instructions and the movements to carry out during the descent.
You will then begin the 1h30 descent on the river, which will allow you to discover the magnificent Pierre-Lys gorges and cross several rapids. At the end of the route, you will arrive directly at the base, where you can take the time to change and talk about this great adventure before leaving the premises.
In total, this rafting session will last 2h30, during which you will be able to enjoy an adventure rich in thrills and natural discoveries.
