Where is the Hermitage canyon?
The Galamus gorges mark a natural border between the Pyrénées-Orientales and Aude. This exceptional site presents majestic panoramas formed by the Agly river which winds through the middle of this limestone canyon reaching more than 500 meters in height. The Galamus canyon is also close to the famous Cathar castles of Peyrepertuse and Queribus.
The Galamus gorges are located in the Occitanie region, in the south of France, between the communes of Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet (Pyrénées-Orientales) and Cubières-sur-Cinoble (Aude), in the Corbières massif.
They are located approximately 45 minutes from Perpignan, an hour from the beaches of Aude and Catalonia (Leucate, Barcarès, Canet Plage, Argelès-sur-Mer, etc.) as well as an hour and a half from Carcassonne and Narbonne. The travel time to reach the Galamus gorges from different towns varies from 30 minutes from Quillan to 2h30 from Toulouse
